Austin City Limits taping

Bramhall will be taping for Austin City Limits on September 30, in Austin. The show will include Wendy and Susannah Melvoin and Lisa Coleman, and is being taped for the new season to begin in February 2000. We'll keep you posted as we know more.

New MP3s released

Wendy & Lisa continue to add new 'Specials' to the MP3 section of their website. The latest additions include covers of "Secret Agent Man" and -- get this -- "Stand By Your Man," both of which were recorded for use in the TV show "Snoops". The site also includes a variety of other scoring snippets and unreleased tracks.

Bramhall, Jeff Beck in Vegas

Bramhall played a short but intense set at Las Vegas' House of Blues on Saturday, Sept. 25, opening for Jeff Beck. The band included Wendy Melvoin on bass, Lisa Coleman on organ, and Susannah Melvoin on percussion, using their skills to showcase lead man Doyle Bramhall II's guitar lines. All three contributed backing vocals as well, with Susannah taking on most of the vocal work. Look for a full review of the show at Musiczone soon.

Snoops pilot airs - Wendy & Lisa Score

The "Snoops" pilot aired Sunday, Sept 26 and featured Wendy & Lisa's scoring work throughout, as well as a repetoire of retro pop standards. You can hear Wendy & Lisa's theme song for the show, "Perfect Stranger," at wendyandlisa.com The duo also contributed an amusing and well timed cover of "Secret Agent Man," with Lisa Coleman on lead vocals. Snoops is slated to continue running Sunday nights at 9pm Eastern. Check local listings for details.

Girl Bros. re-released

Wendy & Lisa's latest album, Girl Bros. is now available in re-release directly from Wendy & Lisa. Wendy & Lisa concert dates

Wendy & Lisa are planning some Los Angeles concert dates October. The shows are tentatively slated to be at the Largo in mid-October, but are as yet unconfimed. This will be Wendy & Lisa showcasing material from their Girl Bros. album, coinciding with its American re-release. As soon as we have confirmed dates, you'll see them here!

Girl Bros Magazine - Issue Two

Girl Bros. Magazine ships late this week. Issue 2 is due back from the printers on Sept 10, and should be in Girl Brothers Network members' mailboxes sometime next week. The issue focuses on 'early days' of the duo: the demise of the Revolution and the beginnings of 'Wendy & Lisa,' complete with videography, exclusive photographs from Wendy & Lisa, articles, news and more.

Bramhall mention in Dallas Morning News

A Dallas Morning News review of Doyle Bramhall II's recent tour opener there gives wonderful press to band members Wendy Melvoin and Lisa Coleman. The Sept 15 review gives props to Wendy & Lisa lending some "big-time talent onstage," and is very favorable overall regarding the entire band and set.

Bramhall's Jellycream hits stores

Doyle Bramhall II's Jellycream hits retail outlets today. The album, produced by Tchad Blake, features songwriting and session work by Wendy & Lisa, Chris Bruce, MeShell Ndegeocello, and (Mrs. Doyle Bramhall II) Susannah Melvoin. Wendy & Lisa set to score Snoops

Dust off your TV! Set the VCR! Wendy & Lisa are contributing the theme and cues for "Snoops" - a fall drama by producer David E. Kelley. The show will run Sundays on ABC -- check local listings for showtimes -- and features Gina Gershon and an ensemble cast of private investigators. Rumour has it that their work for the show sounds nothing like any Wendy & Lisa heard before -- check it out! The show is slated to begin on Sunday, Sept. 26.

Wendy Melvoin Session Work

Wendy Melvoin has completed sessions for a few artists recently. In April, she completed tracks for an upcoming album by Roseanne Cash, then later in the summer flew to Australia to contribute session work to Neil Finn's new release. This is in addition to Wendy & Lisa's combined session work on MeShell Ndegeocello's Bitter and Bramhall's Jellycream. Whew!

Bramhall tour dates planned

Wendy and Lisa are touring with Bramhall on dates to celebrate the release of his new album Jellycream this month. The tour will concentrate on the southwestern US, including shows in Austin, Dallas, Houston, Corpus Christi, Albuquerque, Phoenix, Tucson and possibly Las Vegas. These dates begin this Friday, the 10th September, and run through Saturday the 25th. Unfortunately, Wendy &Lisa have not been able to confirm their participation in the latter three shows due to other obligations. We'll keep you posted!

Madeleine Peyroux session work

Wendy & Lisa have completed their production work for Madeleine Peyroux's upcoming jazz release. The album, Peyroux's second, has two tracks produced by Wendy & Lisa, and the remainder produced by two additional producers. While we don't have a firm release date yet, the album should be hitting stores by late 1999. We'll keep you posted. [If this album ever did come out, I can't seem to find it anywhere . . . -- Ed.]
